Masjid Ibaadillah

Welcome Home

Masjid Ibaadillah was established in 1985.  It started with a small group of hardworking Muslim men and women, who held Friday prayers and Sunday school at one of the member's homes.  Eventually, they were able to relocate and transfer their activities to a building on Jefferson Blvd.  After out growing that building they had to purchase yet another building located next door, in which they were able to provide a sister's section of the masjid.

Under the leadership of Imam Saadiq Saafir, Masjid Ibaadillah has always been a thriving community.  Imam Saadiq emphasized Islamic Studies by holding weekly classes covering various Islamic Sciences.  Also, in following the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Saadiq has trained youth for positions of leadership.  As a result, Masjid Ibaadillah has been the birthplace for leaders and organizations.

In addition to education, Imam Saadiq has always taught the importance of social responsibility in the community.  The Masjid has served the community by providing free food and hygiene for the homeless, consistently for over 20 years.

For over 25 years Masjid Ibaadillah has served the community, providing food for the homeless, and knowledge for the seekers.

Good Companion vs. Bad Companions

With the Name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

A good companion is a valuable asset that enriches your life, while a bad companion is a burdensome liability that contributes to pain and strife. While pondering about this reality, I’m constantly reminded of a valuable jewel, given to us by our Prophet Muhammad (SAW).  This prophetic wisdom rings in my ears like wise words from an elder:

Abu Musa (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “The example of a good companion in comparison with a bad companion, is like that of the carrier of musk (i.e. perfume salesman) and one who blows on bellows (i.e. blacksmith): the musk carrier would either offer you (his musk), you would either purchase musk, or catch its good scent (on your clothing); while the owner of bellows (blacksmith) would either burn your clothes, or you capture a nasty odor (on your clothing) there from.” (Agreed upon)
